Since 2001 Major Saver cards sales have resulted in $375,000 for the Foundation and Sedalia School District. Last year, the Foundation and participating schools shared over $22,000 through the sale of the Major Saver cards. In 2017 participating restaurants/establishments include: Sedalia Parks and Rec., Casey’s, Jiffy Lube, Dickie Doo Bar-B-Que, Fitters 5th St. Pub, Hardee’s, Mighty Melt, Ozark Coffee Company, Sonic, Subway, DQ, Goodcents, Freddy’s, Burger King, Papa Murphy’s, McDonald’s, Goody’s, Country Kitchen, Papa Jake’s, and Bryant Motors.

The Sedalia School District Foundation Distinguished Alumni Award has been established to recognize graduates of Smith-Cotton High School for outstanding achievements and contributions to society following graduation. These recipients reflect strong role models with strengths of character and citizenship to inspire and challenge today’s students.
Smith-Cotton High School will celebrate Homecoming weekend September 29 and 30, 2017. The Sedalia School District Foundation invites all alumni celebrating a class reunion to participate in the annual Homecoming Parade through downtown Sedalia and attend the Tailgate Party and football game on Friday at Jennie Jaynes Complex. The original Smith-Cotton High School, now Smith-Cotton Junior High, is open on Saturday morning for tours and a pancake and sausage breakfast.
Sedalia School District #200 teachers, staff, and administrators are continuing their tradition of generous support for the Sedalia School District Foundation. In the 2016-2017 school year, district personnel will contribute over $9,000 to the Foundation through the payroll contribution program. Skyline Elementary School earned the “Thank You” soup and dessert luncheon from the Sedalia School District Foundation board of directors for the largest percentage of staff contributors in the Sedalia School District. Skyline principal Kelli McFatrich was presented with the red apple trophy at the December 2016 school board meeting and the staff enjoyed their luncheon in January 2017.
